Tumor-associated glycoprotein 72 is a > 1000 kDa glycoprotein found on the surface of many cancer cells, including ovary, breast, colon, and pancreatic cells. It is present in human adenocarcinomas and less in non-neoplastic tissues. This antibody is a useful marker to distinguish between mesothelioma and adenocarcinoma; since false positive reactions can occur results must be interpreted with the utmost caution.
