Nkx-3.1 is a transcription factor functioning as putative prostate tumor suppressor. It is expressed in a largely prostate-specific and androgen-regulated manner. Loss of the protein is a common finding in human prostate carcinomas and prostatic intraepithelial neoplasia. NKX3.1 antibody used in combination with ERG antibody may represent a superior combination to aid in identifying tumors of prostatic origin.
