Beschreibung

MHC class II molecules are one of two primary classes of major histocompatibility complex (MHC) molecules that are found only on antigen-presenting cells and lymphocytes. Their function is to present peptides derived from extracellular proteins (not cytosolic as in class I) to CD4+ T-cells (T helper cells). HLA-DRA is one of the HLA class II alpha chain paralogues playing a central role in the immune system by presenting peptides derived from extracellular proteins.
