Beschreibung

Macrophages are cells produced by the differentiation of monocytes. They function in both non-specific defense (innate immunity) as well as help initiate specific defense mechanisms. LN5 recognizes an antigen expressed by normal macrophages, histiocytes and their neoplastic counterparts. In the lymph nodes antibody LN5 typically stains the cytoplasm of macrophages (tingible body macrophages) and sinus histiocytes, also providing a membran staining pattern in a b-cell population located in the mantle zone of the follicle.
