Epstein Barr Virus is a virus of the herpes family and one of the most common viruses in humans. This product is a cocktail of four mouse monoclonal antibodies. It detects the 60 kDa latent membrane protein (LMP-1) encoded by the BNLF1 gene of the Epstein-Barr virus. It is best known as the cause of infectious mononucleosis and is associated with particular forms of cancer, including Hodgkin's lymphoma, Burkitt's lymphoma, nasopharyngeal carcinoma and central nervous system lymphomas associated with HIV.
