CD4 (Cluster of Differentiation 4) is a glycoprotein found on the surface of immune cells like T helper cells, monocytes, macrophages, and dendritic cells but not expressed on B-cells and immature thymocytes. This antibody reacts with CD4, identifying normal cells of T helper/inducer lineage in peripheral blood as well as most mature T-cell lymphomas (except aggressive NK-cell leukemia and extranodal NK/T-cell lymphoma). It helps to classify lymphocytes in inflammatory lesions and malignant lymphomas.
